Zomerborrel 27 juni bij de “Haagse Kluis” op het Plein.

EUFASA betekent: European Foreign Affairs Spouses and families Association.

Dit is een overkoepelende organisatie van alle vergelijkbare stichtingen in de EU- en EER- landen die, zoals de onze, de belangen behartigen van de partners en gezinsleden van ambtenaren in buitenlandse dienst ( www.eufasa.org). Tijdens de jaarlijkse conferentie worden topics besproken die de problematiek weerspiegelen waarmee we te maken hebben als gevolg van ons overplaatsbare bestaan. Deze topics worden uitgewerkt d.m.v.ons belangrijkste “tool” nl. een interactieve beschermde website. De resultaten en conclusies van deze topics zijn een belangrijk instrument om te lobbyen (samen met de bonden) bij het eigen MinBuza om zaken te verwerven die voor ons van belang zijn. Voorbeelden uit het recente verleden hiervan zijn: het evacuatiebeleid, de pensioencompensatie en als meest recente voorbeeld de voorbereidingsdag voor partners die voor het eerst uitgaan en de terugkomdag voor partners die terugkomen naar den Haag.

Verder is deze website erg belangrijk omdat ieder land hier zijn zgn “CHART” invult en up to date houdt. Dit is een uitgebreid overzicht wat elk land inmiddels aan regelingen heeft. Door de charts onderling te vergelijken kunnen de Associaties kijken wat er inmiddels bereikt is bij welk land en dit gebruiken voor het lobbyen bij het eigen MinBuZa.

Expansion / Uitbreiding Buddy Systeem

Mededeling Uitbreiding Buddy-taken

Op 12 januari jl. is tijdens de Bestuursvergadering het voorstel goedgekeurd m.b.t. het uitbreiden van de Buddy-taken, die deel uitmaken van het systeem van Buddies dat vorig jaar in het leven is geroepen door de Stichting Partners en Gezinsleden. Deze uitbreiding van taken houdt in dat vanaf heden door partners en gezinsleden, die met de ambtenaar voor het eerst uitgezonden worden, een beroep kan worden gedaan op Buddies die, wegens hun reeds opgedane ervaringen, algemene en nuttige informatie kunnen verschaffen over de uitzendperikelen en het nieuwe land van uitzending. Wellicht kunnen op velerlei vragen een antwoord gegeven worden die een stevig handvat vormen bij de eerste uitzending. Ook geldt dit voor degenen die weer uitgezonden worden en ondanks reeds opgedane ervaring iets meer willen weten over het land en anders gerelateerde informatie wensen, die niet direct in het post-rapport vermeld staan. Uiteraard wordt rekening gehouden met het verschaffen van zo neutraal mogelijk gekleurde tips en informatie die verantwoordelijk overgedragen kunnen worden.

Addition to Buddy tasks

On the 12th of January 2011 a motion was approved by our Board to expand Buddy tasks, which play a part in our Buddy system that was brought to life last year by the Stichting Partners en Gezinsleden. This addition of tasks means that as of now partners and their family members, who for the first time will be posted abroad, can call on an experienced Buddy who will be available to hand out general and useful information on the transfer itself and on the new country. It can give you a firm grip when being sent abroad for the first time to have all your particular questions answered. This is also the case for those experienced partners who have already been sent abroad earlier. In spite of their earlier experience they might want to acquire more information on their new country and get further advice that cannot be provided by a post report. Needless to say information, tips and advice of a more personal and practical matter will be offered as objectively as possible.

De “Coming Home” Checklist

Kom je terug naar de Haag en loopt je hoofd over van alle voorbereidingen?

De Stichting heeft een superoverzichtelijke en handige checklist gemaakt van wat er allemaal komt kijken bij je overplaatsing terug naar den Haag. Het is in het Engels, want deze lijst is gemaakt als onderdeel van de Nederlandse bijdrage aan de Workshop “Coming Home” tijdens de EUFASA conferentie die in mei in Madrid werd gehouden.

Going Dutch: The Buddy System

Dear BZ Partners,

On the 25th of march, we introduced the “Buddy System” at the borrel at Byblos bar in The Hague. It was quite a succes, and we got some interesting tips for enhancing the system. For those of you who could not make it to the borrel, a small introduction of the system is given below. For more information, you can also visit “Home in Holland” page on our site.

Introduction “Buddy” system

Wouldn’t it be nice to know that once ‘back’ to The Netherlands you could count on a buddy to help you to find your way in The Hague, especially if it is your first time in Holland or if your family and friends are living far away from The Hague?

In order to make that possible the SPG is developing a buddy system to try to match repatriates with local buddies (partners currently based in The Netherlands). The first step is obviously to find partners in the Netherlands who would agree to become a buddy and to know which repatriates would like to be put in contact with such a buddy.

As a first step, the SPG will organize on the 25th of March an informal gathering after work to explain to interested partners based in the Netherlands what the buddy system will be and to recruit volunteers (see invitation above). As second step the SPG will inform the Embassy network about the buddy system stimulating partners who are about to return to the Netherlands to make use of the buddy system.

A small profile of both buddies and “terugkomers” will be set up and a matching list will be worked out by the SPG. Once the terugkomer receives an e-mail address of his/her buddy they define together how they will like to go ahead, depending on the needs of the terugkomer and the availabilities of the buddy.
